You will need an SR-22 form filed to the Department of Motor Vehicles if you have had license suspension for the following violations:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI)
• Failure to drive with proper insurance
• Failure to pay child support
• Accumulation of 12 points on driving record in one year
• Failure to appear in court
• Street racing

These are some of the violations that will require you to file an SR22 with the state of Nevada.

How long do I need an SR22 in Nevada?

The holding period is 3 years from the date of your license reinstatement. If you fail to maintain the SR22 insurance policy at any time during this 3 year period your license will be suspended again. This will result in the 3 year probation period to start over again. Keep in mind the Nevada DMV does not notify you when you are eligible to remove the SR-22 filing.

Nevada SR22 Insurance Requirements

The state of Nevada requires liability insurance to protect other drivers in the event of an accident. The minimum limits are:

• $15k Per Person Bodily Injury
• $30k Per Accident Bodily Injury
• $10k Property Damage
